Kisii County Deputy Governor Joash Maangi on Tuesday resurfaced after missing from public for several days.
Maangi while speaking in his office welcomed President Uhuru Kenyatta to Kisii.
"I had issues I was handling in the county that is why I have not been going public. Now that the Head of State is visiting Kisii to commission the projects done the county government of Kisii under the leadership of Governor James and I, we should turn up in large numbers to show that we love the President," he stated.
Maangi said the President's trip will not be political.
"Uhuru is not coming to Kisii to play politics but commission various projects at Kisii Teaching and referral hospital. Leaders who intend to relate the trip to politics are advised to keep off," said Maangi.
The Deputy Governor assured that plans are set to ensure the Head of State's trip is successful.
Maangi who has declared an interest to run for Kisii gubernatorial seat in 2022 confirmed that his boss Governor James Ongwae is committed to leaving a development legacy before he completes his second and last term in office.
