Six students arrested on Tuesday from Laikipia University have been set free.
Speaking after securing their bail from Nyahururu Police Station, the students thanked their colleagues for standing up with them.
The students were arrested after a wave of unrest in the school on Tuesday.
It was caused by students over claims that the administration was mismanaging the institution.
This came after the administration reduced the annually celebrated cultural week to one day against the wish of students.
Irate students stoned the university's multipurpose hall and set ablaze part of a forest surrounding the school.
Neighbouring communities have since asked the government to relocate the university to Maralal, Turkana.
The university remains closed indefinitely as students wait to know their fate.
The institution's Senate is scheduled to meet on Mondy and deliberate on the matter.
