In the latest state parastatal appointments, Ndeti will serve for a period of three years.

In a gazette notice signed by president Kenyatta on Friday, Ndeti's three-year term is non-renewable.

Political analyst Peter Ngure, says Ndeti's appointment is a big boost to her future political plans.

He says the former Chama Cha Uzalendo (CCU) chairperson will remain active as she strategizes on her political future.

"The appointment is good news to Wavinya Ndeti especially her political plans," the analyst said on Saturday.

Ngure noted that Ndeti's appointment could have come as a result of the handshake.

Ndeti is a critic of Machakos governor Dr Alfred Mutua.

She unsuccessfully vied for the Machakos governor seat in 2013 and 2017.

Ndeti is likely to contest the Machakos governor seat in 2022.

She is a close ally of Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka.
