Nominated Member of Parliament David Sankok has poured cold water on claims of a widening rift between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.
The two have been appearing distant lately, in what pundits have observed might see them be completely apart by the time the 2022 general elections reach.
But speaking on Wednesday, the vocal lawmaker who hails from the Jubilee Party confirmed that the love remains intact between the two, telling off those awaiting their fallout.
"Uhuru and Ruto are one and the same thing. They are thinking in the same way," he said on Radio Jambo's Mazungumzo Waziwazi show, also attended by Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Director of Communications Philip Etale.
Also present was Amani National Congress (ANC) Secretary General Barrack Muluka and former Rongo parliamentary hopeful and political analyst David Osiany.
Sankok also laughed at those thinking Uhuru will renege on his 2013 vow to endorse Ruto's 2022 presidential bid, claiming that he will actually be leading Ruto's campaigns.
He predicted that at the end, Uhuru will take over as Ruto's chief campaigner, at a time when he (Uhuru) has been appearing reluctant to reassure the DP and his allies if his backing.
"They have not parted ways. When we get to 2022, Uhuru will be Ruto's chief campaigner. (Hawajaachana, na 2022 ikifika yule atakuwa chief campaigner wa Ruto atakuwa Uhuru Kenyatta)," added the MP representing interests of persons living with disabilities.
Attempts by Ruto's allies to have Uhuru declare his support for the DP have been met with tongue lashings, with Uhuru calling upon politicians to use the current time to focus on development.
