Flamboyant businessman cum politician Don Bosco Gichana met Governor Mike Sonko in a Mombasa hotel on Saturday.
Mr. Bosco was released from a Tanzania jail after pleading guilty of money laundering and fraud, a decision he termed as 'difficult but the only way out'.
He had been sentenced for five years and fined Sh15 million but only paid the fine since he'd served in custody for an equivalent period.
At Mombasa, the two old friends were pictured having good times with Bosco saying " having good times with my friend Sonko".
Early this year, Sonko sponsored a petition to EALA to request for unconditional release of Bosco but it had not materialized by the time he was released.
Mr. Gichana, a popular politician from Gusii, indicated his desire to run for a county job, even though he did not disclose the position.
A homecoming ceremony is expected to take place both at Keroka and Gusii stadium, which will be enjoined with the commemoration of his mother, who died in 2016 when he was still in custody.
He's a renowned financier of Raila Odinga during 2007 campaigns, a reason why the former premier contributed towards his release.
