Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo on Sunday advised President Uhuru Kenyatta on what he should do to leave a legacy after the end of his second term in 2022.
Kabogo was responding to a tweet by a renowned city lawyer Donald Kiprkorir who had listed a number of things the Head of State should do in order to leave a legacy.
Some of the things Kipkorir had listed include; clean water for all, food sufficiency, public declaration & source of wealth by all state officers and building bridges among other things.
The flamboyant Kiambu politician, however, responded by stating that the first thing President Uhuru can do to leave a legacy is to wipe out corruption in the country.
“My No. 1 is total war to kill corruption and return of all corruptly acquired wealth. The rest will flow,” he posted.
In August, President Uhuru declared that he will not relent in the fight against corruption, even if it means losing some of his friends.
“I have lost close friends over the war on corruption. We must be ready to lose friends and do what is right in the eyes of God,” said Uhuru.
“We must fight impunity not because we want to destroy for the sake of it. If we do not fight impunity, we will not achieve our goals. For the country to succeed we must fight corruption and impunity,” he added.
