Residents of Manga in Nyamira County are mourning the death of a man who used a wedding gown to commit suicide on Friday.
The deceased, John Gisemba, hanged himself after he found his wife he wedded 2 years ago with another man on the road.
“Gisemba was a high tempered man. He wedded his wife two years ago but seems the wife wasn’t faithful in marriage because he caught her with another man standing on the road in a compromising situation,” said a witness Fidelis Makori.
Makori said Gisemba chased his wife’s mpango wa kando after his wife ran away when she spotted him.
"Gisemba didn’t manage to arrest the man who was with his wife. He returned home and found the wife missing. He picked a wedding gown which he used to hang himself in their bedroom,” he noted.
Area assistant chief Joakim Manoti said the deceased lifeless body was discovered by his 8-year-old daughter.
Manoti's wife has not returned home until now and her whereabouts remains unknown. He said the deceased body was taken to Bwomboga funeral home.
