Kitutu Chache North MP Jimmy Angwenyi has warned his political rivals against spreading propaganda about his leadership.
Angwenyi while speaking on Sunday at Nyabonge area in his constituency said opponents should shun propaganda.
"My political rivals seeking to remain politically relevant must shun propaganda because telling lies about me won't make them MPs in 2022," he said.
The Jubilee lawmaker claimed that his good development record has made him to continue serving the people of Kitutu Chache North.
"I am always elected because I am a very transparent leader. My people have trusted me since I have been addressing their issues well and developing the region," said the MP.
He urged locals to give deaf ears to his political rivals who are out to tarnish his name by spreading propaganda.
The MP challenged Interior CS Fred Matiang'i to arrest local leaders fuelling propaganda to arraign them in court.
"Matiang'i should go after desperate and idling local politicians who are inciting people and telling lies because this is not time for politics but to serve the people," he added.
The legislator reiterated that divisive politics will hinder development not only in his area of jurisdiction but also across the country.
