Hours after his alleged death in the US, a photo of Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama resurfaced online having a walk in the streets of Minnesota.
For two months now, the governor, who was elected on an ODM ticket, has been away for medical checkup.
And for the better part if Sunday, social media was awash of his alleged death, compelling the county government to release official statement.
"The governor's health has substantially improved and he can even walk on his own. Treat with contempt any information regarding his death," read the statement.
If further stated: "In fact, he will be in the country soon for the burial of his son. Those wishing him death should be ashamed."
While on treatment, Nyagarama lost his eldest son, Ndemo Nyagarama through acute meningitis and is set to be buried on 20th July this year.
Last year, Nyagarama was one of Raila Odinga's chief campaigners in the larger Nyanza region and South Rift.
