A Solai-based contractor in charge of the ongoing construction of 64Kms Maili Kumi-Nyahururu Road has vowed to work closely with other stakeholders in improving the infrastructure in schools in the area.
China Henan International Corporation Company Ltd through its manager Xushu Zhen said they will support education.
The project manager was speaking on Wednesday when he visited Jamhuri Primary school as well as Patel Day Secondary school in Solai where he donated sports items and stationery.
“Apart from the ongoing road construction in the area, education should also be given priority in ensuring transformed society. We will work closely with schools around to see to it that the challenges facing them are addressed,” said the Manager.
He added that as a company they will continue to work day and night to ensure that the schools in the area are in good condition for learners.
“We consider this as a social responsibility to ensure a conducive atmosphere for the learners,” said Xu Wven Long.
On her part, Jamhuri Primary school acting Headteacher Jenifer Muthoga commended the contractor for remembering the schools.
“We appreciate the partners. Handling over 900 pupils is not easy but with partners on board we believe even the challenges facing this school will be addressed,” said Muthoga.
