In an interview with Citizen TV on Monday, Nyoro said that the initiative not only lacks legal backing but will also not solve the problems Kenyans are facing in the country.

He insisted that the initiative purposely aims at increasing positions in the Executive in a power-sharing scheme, adding that the BBI report will not benefit Kenyans in any way even if it is implemented.

“BBI is purely about expanding the Executive. Does expanding the Executive bring about any solution in far as inclusivity is concerned? My answer is no,” he said.

On the Division of Revenue Bill stalemate, Nyoro said that that counties have become over-reliant on the national government to initiate projects. He noted that there are many ways or avenues county governments can use to generate more funding.

“The solution is that counties must stop relying wholly on monies appropriated from parliament," he said.

The remarks of the lawmaker come at a time when the BBI taskforce has retreated to compile a report on their findings before presenting the same to President Uhuru Kenyatta.
