Ruto on Sunday and Monday toured Homabay and Migori counties respectively, but majority of area lawmakers avoided him all through the time he spend in the lakeside region.

Speaking during 'The Big Conversation' show on KBC English Service, Weda noted that the move has no effects, adding that the leaders were misadvised.

He said that the leaders, most of whom are allied to opposition leader Raila Odinga should have shelved their political differences with the DP for the sake of their subjects.

Instead, he advised, they should have used Ruto's presence to both lobby for development from the national government and also sort out their problems with him.

"The best thing would be to attend his functions and use the platform to tell him what exactly they hate about his mode of politicking while presenting their proposal and requests," he said.

In his two day tour, only one of the 14 Luo Nyanza MPs rode alongside Ruto, this being Karachuonyo lawmaker Adipo Okuome.

Migori Governor Okoth Obado joined Ruto when he began his tour of Migori on Monday.

In Migori, only Kuria East lawmaker Marwa Kitayama and his Kuria West counterpart Mathias Robi accompanied Ruto as the remaining six kept their distance.

Ruto urged area residents to anticipate more of such visits, promising to return to Migori in February next tear, further noting that the government will henceforth consider the region in it's development agenda.

The visit was the first in South Nyanza for the DP after the 2017 elections. So far, he is yet to tour the central Nyanza comprising of Kisumu and Siaya counties.
