President Uhuru Kenyatta has declared war on Cabinet Secretaries (CSs) engaging in 2022 succession politics.
The president has vowed to sack the CSs if they abandon their duties and continue politicking.
Last week, an angry president Kenyatta said that Kenyans deserve development and CSs alongside other state officials must work.
According to the Standard, the president is angered by CSs and senior government officials who have allegedly abandoned their duties and are politicking.
The Standard reports that president Uhuru Kenyatta during a cabinet meeting last week Thursday, singled out and read a riot act to some CSs who he accused of engaging in politics.
The Daily paper further reports the president was angered by a meeting that was attended by some CSs and Jubilee politicians to discuss 2022 political developments.
The meeting was allegedly convened by Deputy President William Ruto on January 24 and attended by three top CSs.
The Standard reports that apart from the CSs, the meeting was attended by top Jubilee Party politicians among them Garissa Township MP Aden Duale.
"The meeting at the deputy president's Karen residence reportedly caused ripples within Jubilee, " the Standard reports.
Duale is among close allies of the deputy president.
He has defended the political relationship between president Kenyatta and Ruto.
Last week, Duale insisted that president Kenyatta fully supports Rutos 2022 presidential bid.
Attempts to get Duale's comment on the matter were futile as messages to his social media platforms went answered.
