A polygamous man shocked villagers of Gesiongo in Bobasi, Nyacheki in Kisii County after he killed a cow owned by his first wife.
It is alleged that the man Zachary Moseti stormed his first wife Jacinta Bonareri's house and demanded to be given sour milk in vain.
"Moseti abandoned Bonareri 4 years ago and married another woman. Bonareri has been struggling alone since then with her 3 kids until Tuesday evening when Moseti stormed the house to be given sour milk but, unfortunately, Bonareri refused to give him," said a local Benjamin Ongoro.
Mr. Ongoro said angered Moseti picked a metal rod which he used to hit the cow on the head several times which was tied outside ready to be milked.
"I heard Bonareri screaming for help and rushed to the homestead only to find the cow lying down dead," he stated.
A local chief Daniel Choi condemned Moseti saying he has been making efforts to reunite with Bonareri in vain.
"Moseti was lucky he escaped otherwise locals could have beaten him thoroughly. He must buy another cow for Bonareri before I will allow him to come back to the village," said Choi.
He said the cow was buried by locals following the veterinary officer's instructions.
