These politicians visit Mzee Moi to discuss the leadership of the country about fifteen years later after he retired from politics having after ruled for twenty-four years thus becoming the longest serving president in the republic.

This simply means that Moi is still at the helm of Kenyan politics.

Deputy President William Ruto’s attempts to meet his political mentor failed, an incident which sparked a lot of mixed reactions after it turned out that he had been duped and Mzee was not aware of his visit. In fact, Ruto’s supporters were on Senator Gideon Moi’s neck claiming that the Senator's intentions were to embarrass the DP.

President Uhuru Kenyatta who was technically introduced to politics by Mzee Moi soon before 2002 general elections has visited Kabarak. Former Prime Minister and NASA’s Raila Odinga principal visited Mzee shortly after the famous March handshake between him and President Kenyatta.

The most recent visit is that of former Vice President and Wiper’s party leader Kalonzo Musyoka. Musyoka met the former head of state and thereafter addressed a press brief indicating that he had visited Mzee on the interest of Kenya’s leadership.

All these visits are a clear indication that every politician eying the presidential seat in the coming general elections is looking for the attention and blessings of Mzee Moi.

Gideon Moi who is also Moi’s son has also been rumoured to be in the presidential race in the coming general elections and this leaves Mzee in the middle of the Kenyan politics.

He will be forced to decide on whom to back between his son and his political students.
