Malindi Member of Parliament Aisha Jumwa has defied apology request from her party leader Raila Odinga.
The vocal MP has vowed never to apologise to her Orange Democratic Movement - ODM party over her decision to support Deputy President William Ruto, which caused her expulsion from the party on March 1.
“I have heard Raila Odinga saying that if I appear before the party they will forgive me… I want to tell him that what I told them before the National Executive Council remains my position. Let them go back to the records,” Jumwa said while addressing the press at Parliament buildings on Tuesday.
Jumwa was responding to Raila’s remarks while in Kibra Constituency.
Speaking at Toi market in Kibra on Tuesday, ODM party leader revealed that the opposition outfit is ready to reverse the National Governing Council decision against Aisha Jumwa. He advised her to ape what her Msambweni counterpart Suleiman Dori did and apologise.
“If a child asks to be pardoned you forgive them. Recently in our party, Suleiman Dori begged for forgiveness and we pardoned him… If Aisha Jumwa also pleads for forgiveness, we shall reconsider her fate,” Raila said.
