This comes after Matiang'i again snubbed another crucial meeting which was held at Kisii Governor James Ongwae's residence last week Friday.

Gusii leaders drawn from Kisii and Nyamira Counties held another meeting to discuss the future of Gusii community.

Speaking after the meeting, Kisii County Deputy governor Joash Maangi reiterated the need for the Gusii leadership to work together for the benefit of the community.

"We are committed to ensure we are speaking in one voice and negotiate for the national cake for the benefit of our people. Leaders should not skip future meetings because we need to put the interests of our people first," he noted.

Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati assured that he will not sleep in his role as the Gusii community spokesperson.

"Leaders who have not joined the unity movement should consider being part of the movement to push development for the benefit of our people," said Arati.

Senator Sam Ongeri warned local politicians against retrogressive politics.
