Rasanga has since sought the services of a private firm to aid in nominating 9 chief officers, a move facing opposition from the lawmakers.

The MCAs have termed the hiring of the firm a waste of public resources, adding that it will only raise audit queries at the end.

“This is pure wastage of public funds and aimed at recruiting unqualified officers being pushed by the executive,” nominated MCA Irene Shirley is quoted by the Standard.

Central Alego ward representative Leonard Oriaro accused the county boss of contravening the law, wondering why he is yet to forward the names of his preferred candidates for vetting.

‘’If the governor feels those acting are his best choice, he should forward their names to the assembly for both lawful and procedural vetting and approval,” he is quoted.

But in his defence, the Governor has maintained that he took the route to ensure that he only gets the best staff.

The clash comes barely a week after another where the MCAs faulted Rasanga for reducing the ward supplementary budget from Sh30 million to Sh10 million.
