Speaking on Citizen’s TV JKL show on Wednesday, Mutua urged Murkomen to visit the Thwake dam site before questioning the progress of the project. The county boss noted that the senator has been misled, adding that he is making claims without facts.

Mutua pleaded with Murkomen to take time and tour the site to ascertain his claims, instead of misleading Kenyans.

“There is a lot of activity on Thwake dam. Murkomen is being misled and I urge him to visit the dam area and attest to the progress," said Mutua.

In a quick rejoinder, Murkomen noted that the government has already paid Sh7.8 billion for the construction of Thwake dam yet the project is yet to begin.

He questioned why investigations had been launched into the Arror and Kimwarer dams project over the payment of a similar amount, arguing that the ongoing fight against graft in the country was selective in its approach.

“Predictably Gov Mutua is defending Thwake Dam (1 Project) which was paid 7.8B advance money 3 yrs before the works commenced while bastardizing Arror&Kimwarer Dams (2 Projects) whose advance amount is 7B. What’s the difference? TRIBALISM. We know the truth &the truth set us free,” said Murkomen.
