Deputy President William Ruto was a guest at the famous bullfighting extravaganza normally held in Malinya, in Ikolomani, Kakamega County on Monday.

Taking it to his social media account, former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale applauded DP Ruto’s spirit in participating in the event. 

“This man William Ruto! He joined bullfighters in the famous Bahuhyia bull run of Malinya #DPRutoInMalinya,” he Tweeted.

Khalwale revealed the precious gift DP Ruto gifted the winning bullfighter after the event.

“Thank u William Ruto for coming today n thanks for gifting our winning bullfighters with en-calf heifer worth Sh2.0M #SPRutoInMalinya,” posted Boni Khalwale. 

The 'bullfighter observed that over a long period of time, it was only DP Ruto who had addressed a large crowd at Malinya Stadium as a presidential aspirant.

“In my political journey spanning over 20 years no presidential aspirant has addressed a bigger rally in Malinya. @WilliamsRuto, our people have spoken... #DPRutoInMalinya,” he stated in another Tweet.

Khalwale has on various occasions urged the Luhya community to rally behind DP Ruto in his 2022 presidential bid.
