In 2015, Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i became the second Kisii to hold to ministerial positions concurrently.
Before that, the 10-year-old record was held by deceased ex-minister Henry Obwocha who died on Saturday.
In 2005, Obwocha, then Economic Planning minister was appointed by President Mwai Kibaki to also head the Energy docket, becoming the first Kisii to get such privileges.
And a decade later, Matiang'i, then ICT minister, would serve in Lands docket after Charity Ngilu, now Kitui governor, was sacked by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Interestingly, in 2017, Matiang'i, then at Education ministry, would yet again serve in the Interior Ministry in an acting capacity.
While Obwocha served in three dockets including Finance, Matiang'i would go to history books in modern Kenya to have served in four different ministries.
Similarly, the two leaders hail from Nyamira County.
Obwocha, until his death, was chairman Privatisation Commission, a position he assumed in 2015.
