Deputy President William Ruto has suggestively claimed that ODM leader Raila Odinga lied to Kenyans about the historic handshake with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Moments after March 9 handshake, reports emerged that the DP may have been kept in darkness by his boss, Uhuru for unknown reasons.
But in an explosive interview with NTV on Sunday, Ruto insisted that ODM leader Raila Odinga mislead Kenyans that he was not aware about the deal.
“I still don’t know how Raila Odinga concluded that I was not consulted. I am principal assistant of the president and we consult often.
“To be honest, I was much aware about the handshake and the president consulted me. The handshake was for the bitterness of this country and I was the first to back it,” he said.
In a series of his rallies, Raila has often claimed that the historic deal only involved the president and himself.
Recently, a section of Rift Valley MPs openly came out and demanded that Uhuru reveals contents of his MOU with Raila.
