The much anticipated tour of President Uhuru Kenyatta to Nyamira has reportedly been cancelled with the Head of State limiting his tour to Kisii County, it has emerged.
Kisii Governor James Ongwae on Thursday said the president would be in Gusii region for two days from Wednesday, with Nyamira County being in the itinerary of the president.
But West Mugirango MP Vincent Kemosi now says Uhuru had requested Nyamira leaders to to arrange for another trip in future, adding that he will limit his visit to Kisii.
"I don't have plans to travel to Kisii because the president will not be coming to Nyamira. He has limited his trip to Kisii County so there is not need for me to attend.
"He requested Nyamira leaders to organise another trip in future, arguing that his Kisii trip is tight. We had even earmarked some of the projects he was going to launch," lamented the MP.
Last month, Uhuru also cancelled the trip to Gusii with State House citing DusitD2 terror attack as the major reason behind the last minute U-turn.
But for Kemosi, he had prepared to have the President lay the foundation for Nyaigesa Technical Training College besides launching the new constituency offices.
The last time Uhuru visited the region in a development trip was in June 2016 where he launched several road projects, some which have since been completed.
