Labour and Social Protection Cabinet Secretary Ukur Yatani has lost his mother, Gumato Yatani.
The CS took to social media to announce the demise of the mother.
Yatani said that the death of his mother is a great blow to the family.
He, however, did not disclose the cause of her demise.
“As I mourn the passing on of my mother this morning, I thank God for her life well lived and the immense love and positive attitudes she has inculcated in us over the years. Though away in London with your grandsons Ibrae & Ali we say Rest In Peace Ayo!" he said through his Twitter account.
President Uhuru Kenyatta has led other leaders in mourning the demises of Yatani’s mother.
Uhuru, who is completing his second and final term in office, said that the deceased was not only a strong pillar to her family but also a dedicated mother who was determined to give his children the best.
“My deepest condolences to the family and friends of Labour and Social Protection CS Ukur Yatani following the death of Mama Gumato Yatani. Mama Yatani was a strong pillar and a respected member of her community. May Almighty God give you the strength and courage to bear the loss,” he said through his Twitter account.
