Fire Estate in Nakuru Town East is one of the smallest estates in the lakeside town, boasting of only a few housing units.
Iniatialy meant to house fire fighters, the Nakuru County Government-owned estate also doubles up as the parking and refilling point for county fire engines.
Built on a hilly terrain, the estate which is only a kilometer from Nakuru Central Business District has, however, since turned into a dirty drinking haven.
Consequently, passing through the estate at daytime will only subject you to a disgusting scene of drunks sleeping all over, others vomiting and staggering after heavy alcohol intake.
With some drunks turning the drinking dens into their homes, the area has since become a haven for outlaws.
With most of the addicts also jobless, they will try to force some money out of you, making the route one of the dangerous places in the area.
To avoid all the disgusting scenes and the pending extortion, it is better to avoid the route.
