Kenya's unbeaten run under new manager Sebastien Migne continued with a 3-0 win over Ethiopia at Kasarani Stadium on Sunday.
Eric Johanna was the architect in chief after setting up Michael Olunga for the opener and curling in a left footed shot to make it 2-0 at halftime.
Victor Wanyama sealed the victory from a penalty kick to make it 3-0 after Eric Johanna was brought down inside the box.
Harambee stars were showing signs of a team the manager wanted them to be. Sebastien Migne attacking setup caused the visitors problems with relentless work rate from the players across the pitch.
Despite taking three points, Sebastien Migne was quick to rub off any praise.
"I'm happy we scored three goals, won and kept a clean sheet. But we have not qualified yet because we are yet to know the real situation for Sierra Leone. But this still work in progress and we would all love to play in Cameroon," said Migne.
Harambee stars may be lying first in the table, but this was hardly a performance that proves they will remain genuine contenders to advance.
Kenya will next play Sierra Leone at home in Nairobi and travel to Accra, Ghana in March next year to play the Black Stars.
