Fatuma Gedi of Wajir County has lost her position following her alleged role in bribing MPs during the controversial VAT tax poll in Parliament last month.

In a letter seen by this writer, Fatuma lost her position over what is said 'lack of confidence in her' by other women representatives from across the counties.

The letter has since been sent to Prof Kobia who is the Permanent Secretary (PS) Ministry of State in Public Affairs.

"This is to notify you that the majority of the 47 Women Reps from the 47 counties no longer have confidence in the leadership of the chair Hon Fatuma Gedi Ali," reads the letter in part.

"We therefore have removed her from being our chairperson with immediate effect and we will notify on our new chairperson in due course," added the letter signed by Irene M Kasalu who is the Secretary General of the caucus and also the Kitui Women Rep.
