A man was burnt beyond recognition on the eve of Christmas following a dispute with his estranged wife, an incident that left Nyaronge residents in deep shock.
Mr Mageto Nyachieng'a met his cruel death on Wednesday morning after his estranged wife, Jackline Mageto allegedly locked him in their house and burnt him beyond recognition.
Local politician Timothy Omariba said the two have been having family disputes that saw the woman temporarily relocate to her home before making a surprise return on Tuesday.
"Upon hearing that the husband has since moved on by marrying someone else, she returned home on Christmas and the family tried to solve their differences.
"At midnight, we only saw fire from their house only to learn that she had committed the crime. He was severely burnt and recognising him is a bit difficult," he said.
Riamoni acting chief Mr Peter Orina confirmed the incident but said police have launched preliminary investigations to establish the cause of the death.
Further, Orina said, the body of the deceased was taken to Keroka District Hospital by the police who have since launched investigations.
"They allegedly had a dispute before the act. We have taken the body of the deceased to Keroka District Hospital. Police have launched investigations."
