Breaking the news via her social media page, CS Farida revealed that her Ministry in conjunction with the County Government of Garissa would jointly work together in documenting all legal laand owners prior to the issuance of titles of over 50,000 land parcels.

"The Ministry of Lands working with the County Government of @GarissaGov will title 50,000 parcels of land over the next six months. The County which covers 45,000 square kilometers has only 643 title deeds .#WizaraMashinani," CS Karoney posted.

The announcement comes barely hours after the Lands CS held a consultative meeting with the Garissa executive team led by CEC Lands and Urban Planning Mohammed Abdi Shalle .

It is now expected that the joint initiative by the National and County governments will bring to an end the long standing inter-clan conflicts that is synonymous with land disputes.

Over the past couple of years, a number of people have lost their lives in what government officials have attributed to conflicts over grazing lands, especially during the dry seasons.
