The then Senator of Nairobi, Sonko revealed that he gave his fleet of vehicles for Uhuru's campaigns, noting that 28 of his cars were among the Jubilee branded vehicles that facilitated Uhuru's re-election.

Speaking on Milele FM on Wednesday morning, Sonko who admitted that he is indeed wealthy said that all the cars were bought before he won the senatorial seat, adding that they were rightfully acquired.

''Mimi nilikuwa na magari 28 kabla nichaguliwe Seneta wa Nairobi na nilizipeana kwa rais Uhuru zikawa branded na rangi za Jubilee na zikatumiwa kumpigia kampeni (I had 28 cars before being elected Senator. The cars would later in 2017 be branded and utilised for President Uhuru's re-election campaigns),'' said the youthful county chief.

He revealed that he began his journey to riches in his teenage years, claiming that he already owned flats and was a landlord while in Form 3.

Sonko also boasted of his large pieces of land at the coast, adding that he is as well in the real estate business, hence his lavish lifestyle.

''Nilikuwa na ekari elfu moja za shamba huko pwani lakini nimeuza mia tatu, nilikuwa na nyumba za kupangisha nikiwa kidato cha tatu (I have only sold 300 acres of my 1000 land at the coast and had invested in the housing sector by the time I was in form 3),'' he added.
