Barely a month after Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho revealed a plan to block Deputy President William Ruto from succeeding President Uhuru Kenyatta, African Union’s High Representative for Infrastructure Development Raila Odinga on Tuesday held a closed-door meeting with Baringo Senator Gideon Moi.

The meeting between the two leaders is not good news to Deputy President William Ruto as referendum debates continues to take center stage in most public events.

Ruto, who is considered the frontrunner in the race for power, has enough reasons to worry about the meeting of the two leaders. Both Moi and Raila are a threat to Ruto’s Presidency.

There are speculations that Raila and President Uhuru Kenyatta could use Gideon, the son of the Former President Daniel Arap Moi to weaken Ruto before 2022.

Although the details of the meeting between the two leaders remain scanty, Ruto has to go back the drawing board after his attempts to meet Mzee Moi proved futile.

Any calculation that will involve the senator will leave Ruto with sleepless nights as he seeks to become the next President of this nation.

Ruto, who is against the creation of the post of the Prime Minister as referendum looms, will be dealt a major blow if he realizes Moi has joined  hands with either Raila or Uhuru ahead of the elections. He has, however, remained unfazed despite facing a threat from the opposition.
