The meeting which was chaired by the party boss and opposition leader Raila Odinga was apparently convened to convince the lawmakers into backing President Uhuru Kenyatta’s petrol price increment demand.

Speaking on Radio Jambo Friday morning, the vocal leader noted that she was out of the country, hence her inability to avail herself for the meeting.

‘’Sikuhudhuria mkutano wa chama maana nilikuwa ng’ambo (I never attended the meeting because I was abroad)  but I had to fly back to participate in the Thursday sitting,’’ said Millie.

She was among the majority lawmakers who voted against the proposal on Thursday, though the minority side still managed to carry the day in a controversial manner.

She blamed the loss on some sort of rigging, alleging that the Speaker collaborated with the house leadership led by Majority and Minority leaders Aden Duale and John Mbadi to snatch the victory away from her side.

‘’Tulisema kwa kauli moja kwamba hatutaki nyongeza ya ushuru na tukashinda lakini Spika akawapa wapinzani wetu ushindi (the speaker handed our victory to the other side),’’ she added.
