The Kenyan-American Professor of Law Makau Mutua has asked the Kalenjin nation to look elsewhere to cast their votes in the coming polls.
The renown professor told the Kalenjin nation to wake up and smell the black coffee as 2022 succession politics is fast approaching with Dr.Ruto being fronted to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta.
"I beseech the Kalenjin nation to wake up and smell the black coffee," Prof Mutua tweeted.
Prof. Mutua stated on his Twitter page on Sunday evening that the Deputy President is "finished" politically and will not ascend to the highest seat.
"Deputy President William Samoei Ruto is now politically “finished.” his tweet read in part.
The human right advocate termed the Kalenjin norm of putting all their votes to an individual who they trust should not work for the country's second in command saying that Dr.William Ruto is a loser challenging them to look for an alternative voting pattern.
"Look elsewhere for 2022. Putting your eggs in the Hustler’s basket is a loser, a fool’s errand," he added.
According to Prof Makau Mutua, the Deputy President lost in the battle to succeed President Kenyatta as he is not guaranteed automatic party nomination and ultimate election by the Kenyan people.
The distinguished human rights defender has caused his doubt on Dr.Ruto's chances of winning an election.
Dr.Ruto has been facing constant 'attack' especially over the disputed land where his marvellous Weston hotel is built.
Responding to Prof Makau Mutua's assertions, Senator Kipchumba Murkomen said, Deputy President William Ruto is a candidate for the Kenyan people, not the Kalenjin nation.
