The verbal war between Deputy President William Ruto and opposition boss Raila Odinga's camps seem nowhere near ending, after a fresh round of exchanges on Saturday.
Speaking during a fundraiser in West Pokot County, Ruto lashed out at Raila, accusing him of playing under the table games with an aim of undermining him and the Jubilee agenda.
He said that Raila is a 'serial liar' and 'political con' out to hoodwink Kenyans yet unable to initiate any meaningful development to better their lives.
"There are serial liars whom Kenyans cannot believe in.
"Our plans on development, will not be undermined by leaders who want to demean the Jubilee track record,” he said in reference to his political nemesis, reports the Standard.
But speaking in Mathare constituency in Nairobi, a group of nine ODM lawmakers and one from the Amani National Congress (ANC) rubbished the attacks, hitting back at the DP.
Alego Usonga MP Samuel Atandi termed Ruto's concerns as diversionary tactics aimed at diverting the country from the anti-corruption route it has taken.
“We know the Tanga Tanga team are trying to scuttle the war on corruption by developing diversionary tactics like mentioning Raila’s name every time,” he said.
He added that as allies of the opposition, they are in full support of the bodies entrusted with fighting corruption and will always be ready to assist whenever they are required to.Other MPs present including area lawmaker Anthony Oluoch, Godfrey Osotsi (nominated) and George Aladwa (Makadara) also hit out at the DP.
