The players were enjoying their sleep at the Lotte Hotel in central Samara, when the fire alarm went off at around 8 am.

The surprise early morning wakeup call disturbed the Sweden players who were seen outside the hotel standing with some of their fans. The Scandinavian players including midfielder Seb Larsson looked tired and confused in the hotel lobby.

According to one England fan staying near the hotel, the players were not happy with the situation.

“They were not happy and that wouldn’t be a surprise when they were supposed to be getting their beauty sleep before what is probably the biggest game of their lives.”

Sweden will be facing England in the Russia World Cup quarterfinals today evening. This is their biggest game after 1994.

However, the incident was contained and the players returned in their rooms, as confirmed by one of the Lotte Hotel staff members.

“Everything is OK, the guests are safely in their rooms or the lobby.”

The cause of the fire alarm hasn’t been mentioned yet.
