Opposition chief Raila Odinga, it has emerged, may not work with Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula in the run up to the 2022 general election.
Raila, according to Makueni Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior and Parliament Minority Leader John Mbadi has been meeting Kalonzo and Mudavadi and the two say Wetangula has not attended any of the meetings.
According to Mutula Junior, Raila has been meeting Mudavadi more often than Kalonzo and the three opposition leaders are said to be working round the clock to rejuvenate NASA which almost crumbed after Raila held talks with President Uhuru Kenyatta at the commander in chief's Harambee House office on March 9.
"He (Raila) has been meeting Mudavadi more often although he has also held discussions with Kalonzo," Mutula Junior told Swahili newspaper Taifa Leo on Sunday.
He said the objective of the meetings is to strengthen the opposition following claims that NASA may collapse after Raila resolved to work with Uhuru for the sake of uniting Kenyans divided on political lines.
Wetangula according to Mbadi is currently not in Raila's inner circles after he declared his support for Deputy President William Ruto's presidential bid in 2022.
Wetangula during his tour of Western region immediately he was kicked out of the Senate Minority Leader seat called on leaders from the counties of Bungoma, Busia, Kakamega, Vihiga and Trans Nzoia to back Ruto's State House bid in 2022 against the wishes of the NASA fraternity.
