The boy was shocked to receive the message on Tuesday after inquiring through the Short Message Service (SMS) on 2019 form one placement.

Abdul Osman, a pupil from Garissa Township Constituency who scored 379 in the 2018 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) is set to join Kapsowar Girls' Secondary school in Elgeyo Marakwet.

Despite being a Muslim, the said pupil was selected to join an institution following Christian doctrines owing to the fact that it is sponsored by the African Inland Church.

Speaking to this writer, Osman's father Adulaziz Osman alias Major revealed that he was optimistic that his son will receive admission to a boy school when the letters start trickling in, adding that the Tuesday message might just be an error.

"I have never heard of a boy getting admitted to a girl school. I hope this is just but a computer error," Osman disclosed, adding that he has never heard on the said school.

Cases of pupils getting admitted to schools reserved for the opposite sex has been on the rise, a fact that has been blamed on computer programs randomly assigning candidates to schools outside their choices.

However, the Ministry of Education is yet to respond to the allegations.
