Central Organisation of Trade Unions Secretary General Francis Atwoli has yet again lashed at politicians opposed to the unity between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga, insisting that they are 'idiots'.
For the past few weeks, Mr Atwoli has been at loggerheads with politicians leaning towards Deputy President William Ruto, accusing them of sabotaging the fight against corruption.
During Labour day celebrations at Uhuru Park on Wednesday, Atwoli insisted that the unity between the two leaders will remain intact, adding that those against it should be ignored.
"We have a president in Kenya. As workers, we support President Uhuru Kenyatta's fight against corruption. I am wondering about these other people, even though they are Kikuyu and are opposing the president's fight against corruption.
"These are not the same Kikuyu's who fought for freedom. I am not from Central and I support the president. If you don't support him, you're an idiot," he said.
Present at Uhuru Park were: Moses Kuria, John Mbadi, Mishi Mboko, Gladys Wanga, Kalonzo Musyoka, Moses Wetangula, Musalia Mudavadi among others.
In his speech, Mudavadi accused the government over slow pace in the fight against corruption, warning that Kenyans wants to see perpetrators arrested and jailed for the crime.
"The Kenyan worker is one of the most hardworking and heavily taxed worldwide. They deserve to get the best of services from the government through their taxes. We need to plug all avenues of corruption and prioritise projects that will benefit the majority of citizens," he wrote.
