A popular vernacular radio station in the lakeside city has been hit with a major blow after its top sports presenter quit today.
David Bondo, popularly known as ‘Captain David Bondo’ quit his job on March 28, after serving at Radio Namlolwe for 10 years.
In a Facebook post, Bondo noted that he will be serving his followers at Ratego radio.
"It is time today 28/3/2019 that I have to call it off. After 10 years of serving you. Time has come for change yes a positive change. I will serve you from now at RATEGO RADIO 98.1FM . And to start it off I will bring you live football commentary Gor vs RS Barkane in CAF quarter final round one from Kasarani Nairobi 7/4/2019," Bondo posted on Facebook.
In an exclusive interview, Bondo confirmed that he is the sole owner of the new FM station that is yet to broadcast from Siaya County.
He added that Ratego FM will officially start its operations tomorrow.
