Speaking in an exclusive interview with renowned journalist Sophia Wanuna last week on 'Checkpoint', Haji said that the threats started when he was working in the National Intelligence Service (NIS).

"In terms of threats, I have had threats. This is not the first time for me. You know, I worked in NIS. I have had threats from Al-Shabaab and Al-Qaeda both me and my family. Those threats are still in existence. Al-Shabaab renewed threats against me," Haji said.

The DPP maintained that the threats would not kill his zeal to do his work.

He also said that he was not afraid of human beings, only God.

Haji has been involved in the prosecution of high-profile individuals implicated in criminal offences.
