The deceased, Sila Mutua, a cobbler, was beaten to death by a client, but his family on Saturday accepted the gift to let the case rest.

This follows negotiations headed by the clan's leadership, after which the family at loss accepted to take the gift.

Confirming the agreement, the deceased’s father Silu Mutua shed more amazement in the issue, saying that the agreement further dictates that they will have to wait for another year to receive the animals as the clan is handling other cases in the meantime.

''During a meeting on Saturday, elders told us to wait until 2023 for our matter to be sorted,’’ Mutua said.

Mutua said the elders argued that there are four other murder cases lined up for their clan to settle.

The deceased reportedly met his death after he failed to repair the client’s bag even after receiving a Sh50 pay in advance.

The client identified as Musyoka Kituku lost his cool when he realized that his bag was yet to be repaired, leading to the clash that left the cobbler lifeless.
