Reports that President Uhuru Kenyatta may have banned Mt. Kenya MPs from accompanying DP William Ruto to rallies have elicited sharp reactions from among insiders in Nyamira.

A parliamentarian privy to Jubilee intrigues had indicated that Uhuru whipped MPs from his backyard to back his Big Four agenda instead of politicking.

Jubilee MCAs from Nyamira have openly differed with some urging Uhuru to 'tread carefully' for the sake of unity.

"If Indeed those reports are true then the President should desist from dividing the party. Unity is important for him to deliver," said George Mosiori, a nominated MCA.

His counterpart Irene Sese added: "As Jubilee, we should allow freedom of association. I don't think it's a crime for us to accompany Ruto to development functions."

But Rigoma MCA Benson Sironga said the country should be busy in improving living standards of people rather than politicking.

"We are tired with politics. The president is right and in fact he should impose such sanctions to all party members."

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria, a staunch follower of Ruto, has since dismissed the reports insisting that he has not been gagged.
