Political analyst Prof Herman Manyora has questioned President Uhuru Kenyatta's alleged unwillingness to address some of the nation's problems emanating from corruption.
In his state of the nation address on Thursday, Uhuru reiterated his commitment to fighting corruption to the end, but refused to sack some of his officials who have are being questioned over the same.
Speaking on NTV's AM Live show on Friday morning, Manyora wondered why the President is doing close to nothing to save Kenyans from the well known possible effects of the vice.
He wondered why the president was not acting while monies meant for growth and development are getting lost in dubious deals, yet he claims to love Kenyans and the country.
"What do you do if the people you lead are your friends? Do you allow your ministers and people close to you and other crooks to steal all the money from the people?" he posed.
"Do you as President allow these people to destroy the economy by over borrowing and then squander the money leaving pregnant mothers unattended to?" he wondered.
Manyora wondered why the health sector is deteriorating right under the president's watch, observing that all indications point at a president who is on the wrong track.
"Do you break the health system serving the people you love? The answer is no," he stated.
