A day after Peter Musyoka died, a section of Wiper leaders from Nyamira have sent condolences to former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka.

Wiper Vice Chairman Victor Swanya, who vied Kitutu Masaba MP seat unsuccessfully, described Musyoka's father as a calm man who mentored many.

"Your Excellency on my behalf and that of our community from Gusii counties we sincerely send our condolences to you and the great family Mairu's for the demise of Mzee Musyoka Mairu. May the Almight God rest his soul in internal peace," he wrote on Kitutu Masaba WhatsApp Forum.

Similar sentiments were aired by Borabu MP Ben Momanyi (Wiper) and lawyer Stephen Mogaka, who lost narrowly West Mugirango seat on Wiper ticket.

Mr. Momanyi, the second time lawmaker, said he received the news with 'shock' given that Mzee Musyoka was 'in good health'.

"I have received the news in shock. He was fine but that's God's plan. I wish the family all the best during this mourning times," he said.

Apparently, for the better part of Friday, Mr. Kalonzo Musyoka spent most of his time in Gusii during the homecoming of businessman Don Bosco.

Mr. Musyoka campaigned for both Momanyi, Mogaka and Swanya in 2017 after making two trips to the populous county.
