That effort that won him nation-wide praise and fame, has seen him receive goodies for his good work.

The old man, who is a farmer, on Thursday received bags of animal feed, and a cow from well-wishers moved by his good deeds.

This was revealed by State House Secretary of Digital Innovation, Dennis Itumbi on his Facebook timeline, in a late-night post.

Itumbi described Muchemi as a true hero, and thanked those who were involved in the effort of rewarding him.

He said that this was just the beginning of the good things that await Muchemi.

"In just a week we have managed to appreciate this man who dug out a road for his community. I could not have done it alone, you all played a great part. He is a true hero. I also pray for blessings for Chif Philip, who has been a great hand of assistance, and if any of you ever doubted Chifs, then you need to meet Chif Philip.

"I also salute Wakili Mugathua who has delivered Animal feed in 70kg bags to Muchemi from #Topmark Feeds Ltd. I appreciate each of you too. Shikoh Esther, you have literally outdone yourself in coordinating all these on our behalf.

"Muchemi now has a cow and its not over. This story is not over, it has just started. Muchemi is such a joyous and energetic guy. Great personality. God Bless You, Keep You..." Itumbi posted.
