It is still early days to predict how the Kisumu County gubernatorial race will pan out in 2022, with various political players taking a back seat for now.
Kisumu Senator Fred Outa is said to be eyeing the seat currently being held by Professor Anyang' Nyong’o, who will be keen to defend his seat.
But there’s one Member of the County Assembly (MCA) in Kisumu who perhaps deserves a chance to rise to the highest political throne in the Lakeside County.
Railways MCA David Arao’s development oriented brand of politics is taking the ward by storm.
Pastor as many of his supporters call him was overwhelmingly elected last year, despite it being his first stab in politics.
He defeated the former MCA Isaiah Onyango in the Railways ward ODM party primaries, before winning the August 08, 2018 poll.
He has initiated and completed many projects since being elected into office one year ago.
Some of the projects concluded include; the construction of Awaya bridge, distribution of 10 High pressure car wash machines and tanks to 10 groups across the Ward, Revival of the St Lydia Okore dispensary and the removal of the waste within Juakali among others.
The MCA is yet to declare his next political game plan ahead of 2022, but his development record and popularity in Railways ward should make him dream of becoming the next Kisumu governor.
