A section of Kisii University students have vowed to peacefully match in the streets of Kisii town in solidarity of the shot dead Meru University Student Association (MUSA) Secretary-General Evans Njoroge.
Led by University students' union president Peter Kuria-Kisii the students said the killing of Evans Njoroge was unacceptable and they won’t allow that to happen and their match will to ensure that justice is arraigned at the comrade.
“We are planning to match by Friday in the Kisii streets and that will be a peaceful match to awaken the Government that we are not happy with the recent killing of Meru University student president and we want speedy investigations on the matter” said Kuria
Kuria said the students was innocently killed by pushing for positive reforms in the University and called upon speedy investigation on the matter.
Their sentiment comes at a time sorrow has grieved Meru University after the head student was shot by the police at a close range according to some of the eye witness at the university.
Evans was among students at University who was in the forefront calling for reforms at the university amidst an ongoing strike.The Government however hasn’t been able to give an official report on the incident.
