This year’s top Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) candidate, Juliet Otieno from Pangani Girls, Nairobi has revealed that she wants to be an aeronautical engineer.

Speaking moments after Education CS Amina Mohammed released the eagerly awaited results, Otieno, who scored an A of 87.664 points, could not hide her joy following her impressive performance. She said that she expected to perform well but not to top the nation. 

 “I expected but I am still surprised. Meanwhile I am so happy even I don’t know what to say. I would like to do aeronautical engineering,” she said in part.

While releasing the results, CS Amina revealed that the examination was free from cheating. She also thanked teachers, students and other stakeholders in the education sector for the performance shown in this year’s KCSE examinations.

 "Overall, the 2018 KCSE examinations were free of any leakage. There was not a single question or examinations paper that was leaked to anyone before the scheduled start of the individual examinations," said Education CS Amina Mohammed.

Other candidates in the top 5 were James Kanuna(Maseno School), Edwin Otieno Ouko(Light Academy), Ian Duncan Mwangi(Moi High School Kabarak) and (Humphrey Rasugu)Maseno School
