Political analyst Ambrose Weda has faulted a section of Nyanza politicians who have been propagating the 2022 general elections debate.
A number of leaders from the region have been repeatedly linking opposition boss Raila Odinga to the same, the latest being Siaya Senator James Orengo last week.
Speaking on Wednesday, Weda who also happens to hail from the region said that the same is a scheme aimed at benefiting the politicians more than it is of benefit to Raila.
He noted that the group is dependent on Raila for its political survival and is consequently endorsing him to endear itself to the electorate, most of whom adore the former Prime Minister.
The second most likely plan, he added, is to ensure that he is around to endorse them, judging by his almost absolute influence in the area.
"Some of these people know that without Raila they will lose by early in the morning and that's why they are all over the place talking about him," he said.
Weda was speaking on KBC English Service's the Big Conversation Wednesday morning.
Orengo in an interview on KTN said that Raila will team up with President Uhuru Kenyatta in the 2022 presidential elections which Weda now says is a well planned scheme.
"He seems to be trying to ensure that he only uses the minimal effort to win in his preferred seat come 2022," he added.
