The debate whether President Uhuru Kenyatta will favour former Prime Minister Raila Odinga or his deputy William Ruto has elicited different reactions from citizens.
According to renowned political analyst, Mutahi Ngunyi, the choice between the two is proving difficult for the president because of their different personalities.
First, Ngungi says there is a likelihood that Mt Kenya region will be out of power for the next 30 years yet they have no plan for the 3 decades in the wilderness is the major cause of worry.
He indicates that it will be difficult to contain their (Mt Kenya region) numbers and wealth outside the government.
Furthermore, he says Uhuru has two options to choose from, a rich commoner in Ruto and "a poor King in Raila."
"Ruto is rich but his blood is common. Raila is poverty-stricken king but King all the same, (with) no desire for riches (that) if you gave him a hotel he will not know what to do with it. All he wants as a King are simple pleasures, a helicopter, a crowd to energize him...and maybe a sorcerer to show him the future," said the analyst.
The choice of who is better between the rich commoner and the poverty-stricken King then causes a headache and confusion to the president.
"Both are scary, the rich commoner will take our chicken like Nyayo and the poor King will keep us busy and take us nowhere," explained the analyst.
